Artificial intelligence is often lauded as the future of our lives, our homes and the way we function and consume.
AI will be the future, in whatever form. However, it won’t just be our future as consumers – it will also transform the face of business. Here’s how.
What really is ‘AI’?
There are a myriad of different types of ‘artificial intelligence’. Some more intelligent than others. There are also many things that ‘make up’ what AI fundamentally is.
Yet in many companies, AI is not implemented in any form at all. It’s easy to tout ourselves as innovative; it’s harder to actually implement innovation.
AI implementation may not not quite as simple as we might first think.
Yet this doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be explored. In fact, it gives us more reason to explore it, because it stops companies from having to suffer through it in the future when their technology is no longer viable, and AI is a necessity.
Different forms of AI
It might be incorrect to say there are different types of ‘AI’ at all – in fact, we should never assume that there’s only one. This is because artificial intelligence is more of a general term, encompassing things such as machine learning. It is not one thing.
This means that implementing in business does not have to be as intimidating as it seems. Implementing AI technology does not have to mean including it in every aspect and operation of the company.
The AI solution needs an initial problem
Like any innovative technology, your company must have a business case before it can implement the technology. Otherwise, the implementation is ultimately doomed to fail.
AI can help data analysis, business forecasting and even warn of problems before they even happen.
Of course, AI might not always suit the business problem – and that’s okay. There are thousands of ways you can implement technology to better your company, and this means diversifying your application of these technologies.
What are some ways to implement artificial intelligence to better optimise business processes?
There are three steps to implementation of artificial intelligence:
- Identify the problem
- Identify the solution (what approach you will take)
- Implement the technology and remedy any disruption to the business
It sounds straightforward, and it can be. However, there is always the possibility of bumps in the road. This comes with any opportunity for innovative implementation.
